Privacy Policy
At InBrief, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to safeguard your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our email sorting service, InBrief requires access to certain Google user data, specifically Gmail message content and subject lines. This information is used solely for the purpose of classifying emails into custom labels, allowing you to focus on what matters most and improve your productivity.
2. How We Use Your Information
The data we collect is processed in real time to categorize your emails efficiently. InBrief does not store your message content or subject lines beyond the immediate classification process. Additionally, we do not use your email data for any other purposes beyond delivering our core service.
3. Compliance with Google's Limited Use Policy
InBrief fully complies with Google's Limited Use Policy. This means:
- We only access, use, and process Gmail data to provide the core email classification functionality of InBrief.
- We do not transfer Gmail data to third parties except as necessary to provide the core service (e.g., processing via Google Gemini API).
- We do not use Gmail data for advertising, analytics, or any other secondary purposes.
- We do not allow humans to read user data unless explicitly authorized by the user for debugging purposes or required by law.
4. Third-Party Involvement
To sort messages, InBrief utilizes the Google Gemini API. While Gemini processes the data to enable our sorting functionality, neither InBrief nor Google retains, sells, or shares your Gmail message content or subject lines with third parties. Your data remains confidential and is not used for advertising or external analytics.
5. No Use for AI Training
InBrief does not use any of your Gmail data to train our Large Language Model or any AI systems. Your emails remain private and are only used to provide the automated sorting service in real time.
6. Data Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption and secure API communication. Access to user data is restricted and monitored to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
7. In-Product Privacy Notifications
We ensure that users can easily access this privacy policy through in-product notifications. Users will be informed of any updates via notifications within the app settings and onboarding process.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as necessary to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. If any significant changes occur, we will notify users accordingly. Continued use of InBrief after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
